The reason we journey down to Ecuador for hummingbird photography workshops is the many different species at the lodges. In this image a Tyrian Metaltail (Metallura tyrianthina) feeds off the nectar of a local flower. The Metaltail is found in Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Venezuela.
