Reflection of Pemaquid Point Light . This image is a reflection in a small puddle of water on the rocky coast of Maine of the Pemaquid Point Light. Many of these small puddles dot the coasts near lighthouses. The wet, rocky shore is almost as characteristic of lighthouses as the lights themselves.
The Pemaquid Point Light is featured on the reverse of the Maine state quarter.
This historic lighthouse is located in Bristol, Maine. A lighthouse on the Pemaquid Neck was initially commissioned by president John Quincy Adams in 1827.
