A bear takes its kid cub across a shallow Alaskan river. Alaska, with its wide-open spaces, plentiful prey, and frequent snowmelt, is the perfect habitat for brown bears. Bears travel many miles in a single day.
This wildlife photo was taken at Lake Clark National Park and Preserve in Alaska during summer 2014, on a guided wildlife tour and photography workshop led by professional photographer Matt Shetzer.
