In the lowland rainforest of Costa Rica, a howler monkey carries its young child through the canopy on its back. When it grows up, the child will strike out on its own, joining a troop of unrelated monkeys.
Howler monkeys are easy to distinguish by their prehensile tails and furry beards. Of course, once they start howling, they’re hard to mistake.
