Close Encounter with Lake Naivasha Hippos

This photo was taken on a cautious journey across Lake Naivasha, where close encounters with the formidable hippopotamus are both awe-inspiring and nerve-wracking. Lake Naivasha near Nairobi is home to large groupings of hippo families where they float weightless in the water before climbing onto the banks to sunbathe.
