A mother grizzly bear leads her cubs along the coastal beaches of Alaska, near the Cook Inlet. The female grizzly bear mother is only about half the size of a male grizzly. An adult male brown bear weighs about 300 to 850 pounds, and the female typically weights between 200 and 450 pounds.
