This gigantic grizzly bear doesn’t look too ferocious as it takes a nap on the river bank after a long day of fishing in Alaska. In this close up shot of the grizzly bear’s face and claws, you can see a few scars on the bear’s face, indicating that it has survived a few fights in its days.
Bears fight to prove dominance. The most common reasons bears fight are over territory and mates. Male bears will kill other bears, including cubs, if they perceive the other bear as a threat.
As this close up photograph shows, grizzly bear claws are huge, long, and sharp.
