Green and Black Poison Dart frog picture during a wildlife photo tour in Costa Rica. Going by numerous monikers such as Mint Dart frog, Green and Black Arrow frog, and to frog hobbyists as the Costa Rican Auratus, these amphibians are poisonous indeed. Though carrying enough toxin to make a human heart stop beating, its poison is not strong enough to penetrate unbroken skin.
This up close and personal frog picture details the mint green and black skin of this anuran, as well as the sucker-like discs on its toes to aid in climbing. Found prevalently in Costa Rica, this frog portrait was captured near Cordillera de Talamanca.
