Sachatamia ilex is commonly known as either the Ghost Glass Frog or the Limon Giant Glass Frog. They’re extremely shy animals, often only revealing themselves when it’s time to seek a mate.
During mating season, male glass frogs call out to females, but must fight other males who hear the calls and try to invade their territory. When a female finds a mate, she’ll lay her eggs on the underside of a leaf overhanging water, so the tadpoles can drip into water as they hatch.
