Brown-hooded parrots like this one are extremely secretive. Often, the best way to know there’s one nearby is to look for fruit falling out of trees.
Catching one perched like this is a lucky break. It’s much more common to see them flying full-speed through the sky, moving so quickly it’s difficult to make out the distinctive markings of their plumage.
