Bald eagle attack closeup photo. This inflight battle shows a screaming eagle, displaying its wingspan, as another eagle soars in for a collision. Fall Congregation along the Chilkat River is when up to 4,000 bald eagles converge to feast in the late season salmon run. With the river in the background, these raptors fight for territory, food, and mates. Eagle wings front and back are in view, and these birds have wingspans of 6-7 feet in length. This allows eagles to be soaring birds, and use less energy in flying about. When an eagle attacks, it may dive at triple digit speeds, so these sorts of skirmishes are no joking matter.
