Three bald eagles converge on a brown bear carcass as it preserves in the frigid waters of the Chilkat River.
With their extremely powerful talons and naturally sharpened beaks, these Alaskan eagles chow down on the remains of this easy meal. Another bald eagle hangs in the rear, not partaking in this feast, as the rocky shore and snowy landscape fills the background.
Bald eagles are hunters and scavengers, so a free carrion-style rack of ribs is a treat not to pass up. Wildlife image taken in the Alaskan backcountry during Bald Eagle Photo Workshop near Haines.
