This focused bald eagle patrols the rivers of the Chilkat Preserve near Haines, Alaska. These birds will circle an area for hours, looking for signs of fish or other food. When an eagle spots its prey, it enter a dive-bomb which can reach incredible speeds. Near the zenith of their dive, the birds will pull out and use their huge talons to scoop prey from the ground. A focused eagle hardly has to arrest its progress to snatch prey before continuing onwards.
