This bald eagle comes in for a landing. This eagle came screaming down for a very fast landing. It waited until the last possible moment to start flapping its wings and slowing down. The eagle on the ground was unimpressed by this display, although our photography group certainly enjoyed it!
Many eagles were patrolling along the banks of this Alaskan river, looking for dead fish or other food to scavenge. Although they will seek out live prey if necessary, bald eagles are primarily carrion birds, meaning that they scavenge meat which is already dead.
