A bald eagle calls out to his counterparts at the Chilkat Bald Eagle Preserve near Haines, Alaska.
The eagles screaming call is broken into a series of stuttering notes which helps carry their voices over long distances. The eagles piercing shrill can be heard throughout the 48,000 acre bald eagle preserve in Alaska during the early winter months. The area attracts more than 3,000 eagles each year during the last salmon spawn in North America. The preserve is also a prime spot for bird watchers and photographers.
