An Alaskan grizzly bear stands in the field in the grassy valleys in Lake Clark National preserve in Alaska. Grizzly bears have a multitude of strengths to aid them in survival. They are not only highly intelligent with excellent memories, but also have a powerful sense of smell. They are also good swimmers and fast runners, reaching speeds as fast as 35 mph or 50 km/h.
